the reason

When I was younger, I raised an Ampharos in Gold. Her name was Alexandria (so clever) and she was a solid part of my team all the way through. The moment I saw Mareep in the game, I knew I had to raise one. I love sheep, since my parents used to raise them when I was growing up. The whole evolutionary line became a favorite of mine; they're all cute but can also hold their own in battle. I thought the "electric sheep" concept was pretty cool. I also loved Ampharos' name, of all things, which I think is one of the most clever English names. To this day, Ampharos has been one of my absolute favorite Pokémon. I raised another one in HeartGold, and it was just as awesome the second time around :). While Ampharos might not be a stellar battler, and it's not one of the most popular Pokémon, it'll always be dear to me.

the website

Shine began as a fanlisting in early 2008. In 2010, I decided to expand it into something of a minishrine. The current layout features an image of Ampharos found on a wallpaper at Pokémon.com. The other images and sprites used on this site are mostly from Wikipedia, Bulbapedia, Pokébeach, and Pokemon Elite 2000.
